Head of Learning Support – Independent School, Hertfordshire

Salary: £44,000 – £48,500
Our client, a highly successful, independent girls’ preparatory day school (4-11 years) in Hertfordshire is looking to appoint a Head of Learning Support as soon as possible.
Distinguished by a unique approach to learning, the school places value on a comprehensive curriculum that encompasses all subjects, including music, PE and art. Central to the school’s ethos is the promotion of positive reinforcement, emphasizing respect and consideration for others, self, and the environment.
With a commitment to preparing girls for prestigious senior day and boarding schools across the country, the school attributes its success to high-quality teaching in small, nurturing classes. This approach ensures that each girl has the optimal environment to thrive. The school has approximately 140 girls and 50 staff.
The school is seeking to appoint a Head of Learning Support, with responsibility for the school’s learning support provision ensuring that every student achieves her full potential and that every special educational need or disability is appropriately supported.
The successful candidate will:
- Be a qualified teacher of SEND and will be fully committed to ensuring that every girl achieves her full potential.
- Have EYFS, KS1 or KS2 teaching experience and experience of working within a Learning Support team.
- Require excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills with a strong empathy for working with children and young people and be fully supportive of the aims & ethos of an independent girls’ day school.
